Dear Friends,

I need to let you know that I'm likely to be out of action for a few days at least.

Taking my usual walk on Monday morning I blacked out rather suddenly and found myself fallen on the roadway with lacerations.

At the Accident and Emergency unit I was given several examinations, one of which found serious blood clotting in the lungs.

The medics are doing a great job with me at CCU and I have no doubt I'm in the right place. The Lord has provided by the sequence of events and I am so grateful for the visits and attentions of my darling wife.

Your prayers for our community as well as for me are greatly valued.

The Collect for the 21st Sunday after Trinity is

GRANT, we beseech thee, merciful Lord, to thy faithful people pardon and peace; that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve thee with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The prayer is entirely for that "pardon and peace" which the Lord will assuredly grant to His "faithful people". The benefits of this will be cleansing "from all their sins" and their service  of the Lord "with a quiet mind". May we full-heartedly pray this prayer.

Mr. Peter will kindly order the service of Morning Prayer on Sunday, which will be in the customary place and time unless he instructs otherwise.

In faith in the holy Name of our Lord Jesus, who will continue to provide guidance to us all.
