Dear Colleagues,

The weather has taken a distinct change to the cooler temperatures of our winter season, with our A/C thermometer indicating about 75 degrees with no A/C. This I regard as the paradisal temperature for the clothed human frame, and yet the sudden temperature drop at this time of year seems often to be associated with the onset of one or another flu-type cold condition - and then clearing up quite quickly after a day or two of over the counter medicine or whatever home elixir your family tradition prescribes. And following the Nor'wester that the old-timers see as the real mark of the end of the hurricane season, those who have left up any of their hurricane shutters can now fully open up.

With Cayman still in a "bubble" with covid-19 pretty effectively kept out (although the postal service is operating again, albeit very slowly where overseas mail is concerned), there seems little point in trying to get out Christmas cards and letters the old way this year, especially overseas. With the use of whatever email addresses we have we shall be content. So don't forget to check your "Junk" folder as well as your normal

Inbox, because stuff is getting sent there unaccountably that is definitely not "junk". WhatsApp connections are very good too if you have them.

I want to announce the identity of the new personal website that I disclosed last week:

www.truthwithlanguage.com

It will among other matters give information on our specific concerns as a manifestation of the Body of Christ. I am hoping that the website will be in a continual state of development; if you have ideas for it do let me know, and I may or may not take them on, and at a rate that I can manage. So click and see.

The Collect for the Third Sunday in Advent is

LORD Jesu Christ, who at thy first coming didst send thy messenger to prepare thy way before thee: Grant that the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at thy second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in thy sight, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

It speaks of the "John the Baptist" aspect of our Christian ministry as "ministers and stewards" of Christ's mysteries, with the call of "preparing and making ready" His way that will culminate in His "second coming to judge the world". Just as John was called to "prepare" the way at His first coming, so are we all now to be *preparing the way* for the Final Advent of Christ our Lord.

May we be faithful to His mighty purpose!
